My Journey

I didn’t always know I wanted to be a therapist - but I’ve always been drawn to the deeper layers of things: feelings, stories, music, people.

​

Music was my first language for understanding the world and myself. It's what I sought for comfort in times of pain, expression in times of joy, and release in times of anger.

​

But there was a time I lost that connection. I struggled to connect to others in a safe and meaningful way as a teenager and young adult. After surviving an eating disorder and an abusive relationship, I felt silenced and unrecognizable to myself. Even music - once a source of joy and comfort - felt distant and painful.

Songwriting was what pulled me back. In the quiet aftermath of that trauma, I started writing again - not to perform, but to survive, to uncover the voice that had been stifled and buried. Creating became a way to feel my feelings, to remember who I was, and to begin piecing myself back together.

​

That led me to study songwriting at Berklee, hoping to deepen that connection. But instead, I found myself in a culture of perfectionism, pressure, and comparison. I began to lose my joy again - this time not from trauma, but from the slow erosion of creativity under critique. I realized I didn’t want to just make music - I wanted to understand why it mattered, and how it could help people heal.

That’s what led me to music therapy, and eventually to coaching: work that honors both the emotional and the expressive, the messy and the meaningful. Now, I help others reconnect to their voices - literally and metaphorically - through creativity, compassion, and deep listening.

​

My work is rooted in lived experience and professional training. I know what it’s like to lose connection with your art, your voice, your sense of self - and I know how powerful it can be to find your way back.

My Approach

I believe our work together should feel like a collaboration, not a correction.

 

Whether we’re working through anxiety, creative burnout, or big life transitions, I create a space that’s warm, curious, and grounded in compassion. You don’t need to show up a certain way or have the “right” words. We’ll start with wherever you are.

 

Our work might include music, storytelling, art, movement, or play. It might mean revisiting stuck patterns or writing new ones. It might mean learning to trust your voice - literally or metaphorically.

 

I bring a trauma-informed, identity-affirming lens to every session, with a strong foundation in both creative expression and clinical support. You don’t have to choose between emotional depth and creative freedom - you get both here.

 

Together, we’ll tune in to what’s true, what’s needed, and what’s possible.
